Wine Specials April – Bristol Farms NB

Zolo Sauvignon Blanc

Reg $9.99 Special $7.99

The vibrant flavors for this sauvignon blanc comes from its vineyard site in Agrelo, Mendoza – at 3117 feet altitude, Zolo utilizes an overheard arbor trellis called “Parral tipo Cuyano”, which keeps the clusters protected from the direct sun exposure. This excellent sauv blanc stands out with citrus fruit aromas that highlight the bright and lively grapefruit nuances. Additional tropical fruit flavors such as citrus, pear, melon, and kiwi play off each other through the finish.

Michel Torino Cuma Torrontes

Reg $11.99 Special $9.99

Cuma means clean and pure in Aymara language, an indigenous people who inhabited the Cafayate area prior to the reign of the Inca civilization. As malbec is to reds in Argentina, Torrontes is the great white wine of this country. Growing of grapes and winemaking of Cuma have followed a strict and certified organic process in the Michel Torino vineyards. This vibrant white possesses dry, fresh, mouth-watering acidity with fruit characteristics akin to a tropical fruit cocktail of peach, papaya, tangerine, and pineapple.

Tilia Chardonnay

Reg $11.99 Special $9.99

Tilia takes its name from the Latin word for Linden, a tree commonly found throughout the wine country of Mendoza. Its flowers are used to make a popular herbal tea with calming properties (much like the wine). Tilia, made at Bodegas Esmeralda, a Catena family winery in eastern Mendoza, offers luscious tropical fruit aromas with citrus notes. Bright and vivacious flavors on the palate, concentrated peach, nectarine and cinnamon spice perfectly balanced by the brisk acidity, and complemented by a delicate hint of vanilla oak.

Durigutti Bonarda

Reg $11.99 Special $9.99

Two brothers of diverse wine-making backgrounds came together and created Durigutti winery. Pablo nourished the American new world concept and Hector, enriched by the European tradition, combined their individual styles to create the maximum expression of their Argentine reds. Unfiltered and unrefined, this aromatic wine (Bonarda originates from the Savoie of France, where it is known as Corbeau or Douce Noir; in California, it is known as Charbono) is loaded with flavors of black fruit, tobacco, jam, black cherries, toast, and pepper.

Durigutti Malbec

Reg $14.99 Special $12.99

The best grapes from three different vineyard sites were selected, each one with a special characteristic – the tannins from the La Consulta, the fruitiness from the Agrelo and the vibrancy of the red fruit from Medrano. Ripe and toasty with a hefty dose of mocha and coffee laid over the fleshy dark plum, currant and blackberry fruit, this malbec remains vibrant through the finish. This is a well-integrated wine with the fruit and tannins being an equal match on your palate.

El Felino Cabernet Sauvignon

Reg $19.99 Special $16.99

Famed American winemaker, Paul Hobbs, is the mind, and hands, behind these exquisite wines of El Felino. Along with winemaking partners Andrea Marchiori and Luis Barraud, Mr. Hobbs has blazed a pioneering role in the winemaking revolution of Argentina. This beautiful cab opens with an earthy nose, rich with aromas of fine-grained leather and licorice. The palate is generous and complex, with notes of black currant and boysenberry weaved together with graphite and sweet tobacco. Ripe, plush tannins combine with subtle minerality creating an ideal balance and a lengthy finish. The vineyards sites are Lujan de Cuyo and Maipu. A dab of syrah and petit verdot and 9 months in American and French oak barrels adds another level of complexity not found in most cabernets in this price range.
